Michael Cary Dwight MacDonald

Michael Cary Dwight MacDonald died January 10, 2008, in New York, New York.

A native New Yorker, he was born April 8, 1938. He lived in Eliot House while at Harvard and belonged to the Signet Society and the Harvard-Radcliffe Organ Society.

His early career was in motion pictures - he was casting director and production assistant for Peter Brook's 1963 film "Lord of the Flies" and served as an assistant story editor under director Otto Preminger-but his life's work was as a writer.

He was devoted to books, politics, sports, movies, and classical music.

He was survived by a brother, Nicholas.
