Richard Ely Hartwell died April 7, 2009, in Easton, Massachusetts.
He was born in Waltham, Massachusetts, on October 3, 1937, and prepared at Middlesex School, in Concord. He resided in Kirkland House while at Harvard and received his A.B. in 1965.
Retired from the U.S. Army Reserve, he worked for many years as a loan servicing agent for Neworld Bank in Boston. He was survived by a son, Richard, and a brother, John; his wife of thirty-two years, Ann (Curley), died in 2005.Â
