Julia Allen Field '60cl died February 17, 2010 in Wellesley, Mass.
A longtime resident of Miami, she was a writer and environmental planner and a former director of the Miami Zoo.
Her abiding love for nature and wildlife inspired her to establish Amazonia 2000, an organization that brought together a multidisciplinary team to conserve the rainforests of the Amazonas of Colombia; her effort played a major role in the establishment of Amacayac� National Park, in Colombia and Peru.
She leaves a daughter, Juliana, and a sister, Jean Mather, M.L.A. '56; her husband, Henry, died in 1986.
