LAWRENCE CHASE BROWNE '60, LL.B. '65, of Brooklyn, died August 13. Hepracticed with a number of New York litigation firms before starting theinternational transportation law firm Maloof & Browne in 1993. He was involved in a number of notable federal cases in the course of his career, including thelandmark "Pentagon Papers" case before the U.S. Supreme Court in 1971. He wasan avid tennis player and an opera buff. He leaves his wife, Debbie, threedaughters, Jennifer, Dorothy, and Erica, and his mother, Dorothy.
